What a phenomenal halter mare Lady Emerill has turned into.  Though contributing pivotal muscle in our halter string, she really surprised us with her affinity for wearing harness.  She is the daughter of Cassie and gathers from her mother that honest, even-tempered nature and clean, smooth lines with some of the sweetest joints you'll ever see on a Shire.  Deighton Black Knight is proving himself to be everything we wanted in a herd sire by producing offspring like Emma with her beautiful hocks and gigantic, healthy foot.  This mare wears an eleven shoe with NO gimmicks.  Emma will remain in the hitch core for her five-year-old season in 2008 but will retire in the brood mare band for 2009.  For more on this powerful mare: Powerhouse Mare Pair

UPDATE:  Emma is for sale.  As mentioned on Bailey's page, every few years we offer one or two exceptional mature horses for sale.  This is done to make room for younger replacement horses and to retire the horses that deserve to move out of the breeding operation and find their forever home.  We are extremely discriminating when it comes to placing these horses and will only consider the best environment for these Shires who have been members of our family.  Emma is one of those mares who comes along once in a lifetime.  She has been a powerful contender when shown in halter and boasts many championships - she is very tough to beat.  She is well broke to drive and ride and has a very ambitious personality in addition to hogging all the attention.   She has been shown extensively since she was only a few months old and is consequently very obliging in every setting.  Please note that we are not offering her as a brood mare; we have not been able to get her in foal and make it very clear that she is being offered as a riding or driving mare only.  This mare has incredible structure and movement and would be an ideal halter and driving mare for the serious person.  Emma will be placed in the BEST home only.
